Discover our School
Our school respectfully acknowledges that we are located on the ancestral, traditional and unceded Indigenous territory of the Algonquin Peoples,
on whose territory we pray, learn, play and work.
The OCSB acknowledges the suffering experienced by Indigenous peoples in Canada's Residential Schools and is committed to Truth and Reconciliation. Read the OCSB Response to the Truth and Reconciliation Calls to Action to learn more.

Spiritual Theme
The OCSB's spiritual theme for 2024-2027 is: We are called to open doors, build bridges, and nourish new beginnings. It is rooted in Revelation 3:20, “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock…”
In each of the next three school years, our school will focus on a different aspect of the Spiritual Theme: Opening doors, Building bridges, and Nourishing new beginnings.
Our History
St. Emily opened its doors in September 2006. It was named in honour of St. Emily de Rodate who was born near Rodez, France and who became a nun at Maison St. Cyr when she was eighteen. Emily means "to excel". In 1815, she decided that her vocation was in teaching poor children. With the aid of three young assistants, she began her work in her room at St. Cyr. This was the start of a teaching institute called the Congregation of the Holy Family of Villefanche. It grew rapidly, establishing its own motherhouse and branches. In time, St. Emily extended the Congregation's activities to caring for unfortunate women, orphans and the aged. She saw 38 institutions established before she died in 1852. She was canonized in 1950 and her Feast Day is September 19.

St. Emily, St. Emily
Teach me all I need to know
St. Emily, St. Emily
Love me, guide me as I grow
Help me to be a loving neighbour
Help me to be a very good friend
Show me that I can live like Jesus
Show me that his love has no end
St. Emily, St. Emily
Teach me all I need to know
St. Emily, St. Emily
Love me, guide me as I grow
